Sienna's project supporting Custom Solar at the Portsmouth International Port, reinforces our capabilities of working within a live port environment.
The project commenced in February 2022 and incorporates roof-mounted solar panels across a number of buildings, battery storage and solar canopies. It was the first UK port to utilise solar canopies, and will have a mega-watt sized battery installed as part of the renewable installation.
The power produced by the 2,660 solar panels will contribute around 35% of the site’s power - a significant step in Portsmouth International Port’s ambition to be the UK’s first net zero carbon port.
Summary of the Scope:
- Construction of RC foundations and erection of steel gull-wing support structures whilst keeping traffic lanes running
- Hand and machine excavation of cable trenches
- Open trench cable installation and cable install using directional drilling
- New substation construction & alterations to the existing DNO substation
